Weekend Road Closures for June 3-5, 2022

Traffic Modifications for Weekend Baltimore Orioles Home Games

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary traffic modifications that will be in effect for the Baltimore Orioles home games which will be held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium during each game.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Park and Ride express bus services, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore. 

Baseball fans that drive to the games should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Patrons with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311. 

In preparation for Friday’s game, the following streets will be closed on Friday, June 3, 2022 starting at approximately 4:00 p.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets
  • Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, June 3, 2022 beginning at 4:00 p.m.:

  • East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

The road closures and parking restrictions listed above will also be implemented on Saturday, June 4, 2022 starting at approximately 1:00 p.m. and on Sunday, June 5, 2022 starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

 

Portions of Charles Street to Close This Saturday for the Charles Street Promenade
Charm City Circulator’s Purple Route will be detoured during this time 

This Saturday, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Charles Street Promenade.

On Saturday, June 4, 2022 portions of Charles Street will be closed to through traffic between Saratoga Street and Lafayette Street from approximately 6:00 a.m. to midnight with detours and parking restrictions in effect.  During the event, a number of cross streets along this stretch of Charles Street will remain open for vehicular traffic, including Saratoga, Mulberry, Franklin, Centre, Madison, Chase and Mount Royal Avenue.  The access ramp to I-83/Jones Falls Expressway will also remain open with access from Mount Royal Avenue to Charles Street.

In preparation for closure, parking restrictions will be implemented along this stretch of Charles Street from 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4 through 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022.   Motorists planning to park in this vicinity should pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and are strongly encouraged to utilize area garages and surface lots.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed. 

During the closure of Charles Street, a portion of the Charm City Circulator’s (CCC) Purple Route will be detoured and temporary stop closures along Charles Street will be implemented throughout the day.  The Purple Route will be detoured onto Calvert Street after Stop 302 (The Gallery) and will proceed north on Calvert and west on North Avenue back to Charles Street to resume the normal route. 

The CCC buses will stop at designated MDOT MTA bus stops along this temporary route on Saturday to pick up and discharge passengers as needed.  Riders will be able to board the Charm City Circulator at all other designated stops during this time.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore 10-Miler

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore 10-Miler Footrace.  The race kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and will begin and end at Druid Hill Park.  Approximately 5,000 runners are expected to participate. 

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  In addition, parking restrictions will be implemented along portions of the race route from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants.  The Baltimore City Police and Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the route to help facilitate the movement of traffic during the event.  Drivers traveling in these areas should be on the watch for pedestrians and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

Baltimore 10-Miler Course Turn by Turn Directions:

  • Start on East Drive, east of Swann Drive.
  • Follow East Drive and pass the pool; road becomes Wyman Park Drive.
  • Continue on Wyman Park Dr., crossing over Sisson Street/Keswick Road, and over Remington Drive.
  • Veer right at San Martin Drive, continuing on Wyman Park.
  • Turn right onto Art Museum Drive (which becomes Howard Street).
  • Turn left onto E. 28th Street.
  • Go approximately seven blocks, then turn left onto Greenmount Avenue.
  • Make slight right onto Old York Road.
  • Turn right onto 33rd Street, and follow it to Lake Montebello.
  • Circle counterclockwise around Lake Montebello, then exit back out onto 33rd Street.
  • At the first light, turn right onto The Alameda.
  • At 36th Street, turn around and go south on The Alameda back to 33rd Street.
  • Turn right onto 33rd Street, and follow it back to Greenmount Avenue.
  • Turn left onto Greenmount, and follow it to 28th Street.
  • Turn right onto 28th Street.
  • Turn left onto Wyman Park Drive.
  • Follow Wyman Park Drive back to Druid Hill Park, going past the pool and veering left on East Drive.
  • At the top of the hill, veer right onto Hanlon.
  • Turn right onto Red Road (stay in right-hand lane until past Safety City).
  • Turn left onto Shop Road.
  • Stay to the left around Safety City on Grove Road and Cut Off Drive.
  • Turn right onto Red Road, then right onto Hanlon.
  • Finish on East Drive, before the intersection with Swann Drive.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Trans Pride Parade and Festival

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Trans Pride Parade and Festival.  The parade kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and participants will march along Charles Street between 33rd and 23rd Streets.  The festival will be held along Charles Street from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed from 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4 through 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022:

  • Charles Street between 23rd Street and North Avenue
  • 20th Street between Lovegrove and Morton Streets
  • 21st Street between Morton and St. Paul Streets
  • 22nd Street between Morton and St. Paul Streets
  • 23rd Street between Lovegrove and Morton Streets
  • Charles Street between University Parkway and 23rd Street - closed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Art Museum Drive between Wyman Park Drive and Charles Street – closed from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In addition, parking restrictions will be implemented in this area from 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4 through 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022.  Drivers should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.

Motorists should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants.  The Baltimore City Police and Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed along the parade route to help facilitate the movement of traffic during the event.  Drivers traveling in these areas should be on the watch for pedestrians and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

On Sunday, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway for cleaning activities.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along both the northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
