Portion of Eastbound Federal Street to Close for BGE Utility Work

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of eastbound Federal Street will temporarily close for BGE utility work. 

Beginning on Thursday evening, February 29, 2024, eastbound Federal Street will be closed to through traffic from the railroad overpass to Erdman Avenue with detours in effect.  This portion of eastbound Federal Street is expected to remain closed until May, 2024, weather and construction schedules permitting.   The westbound travel lanes of Federal Street will remain open to traffic during construction.

Eastbound Federal Street traffic should detour north on Edison Highway, and then east (right) on Sinclair Lane to access Erdman Avenue.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid possible congestion and delays.  Drivers are also encouraged to download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.
