Weekend Road Closures for Friday, October 27 Through Sunday, October 29, 2023

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and BCDOT is not responsible for providing status updates.

Traffic Modifications for City Poly Fest

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the City Poly Fest which will be held at Pimlico Race Course. 

In preparation for the event, the following road closures and special traffic patterns will be implemented:

Friday, October 27, 2023 starting at 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 12:00 noon:

  • Rogers Avenue – Closed from Winner Avenue to W. Northern Parkway
  • Bland Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Key Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Woodcrest Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Merville Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue
  • Stuart Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Rogers Avenue

Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.:

  • Winner Avenue – One-way traffic northbound from Hayward Avenue to W. Northern Parkway
  • Rogers Avenue – One-way traffic westbound from Winner Avenue to Park Heights Avenue

Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.:

  • Hayward Avenue – One-way traffic eastbound from Park Heights Avenue to Winner Avenue
  • Eastbound Northern Parkway – Left lane closure from Park Heights Avenue to Greenspring Avenue
  • Cylburn Avenue – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Greenspring Avenue

Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.:

  • Eastbound Northern Parkway – Right lane closure from Bland Avenue to Pimlico Road
  • Pimlico Road – Closed from W. Northern Parkway to Ken Oak Avenue
  • Hayward Avenue – One-way traffic westbound from Park Heights Avenue to Winner Avenue

Patrons attending the festival are strongly urged to carpool or use public transportation.  Motorists that choose to drive to Pimlico Race Course should park at commercial lots and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  All posted parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed

Vehicles that are relocated during the event will be taken to Cylburn Avenue just south of Northern Parkway.  Motorists with questions concerning the location of their vehicle should call 311.

Motorists traveling in northwest Baltimore this weekend may experience delays and should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns while driving.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Port to Fort 6K

This Saturday, temporary lane closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the Believe in Tomorrow Port to Fort 6K which will be held in Locust Point.

The race will kick off from the Liberty Lot located at 1215 E. Fort Avenue at 8:30 a.m.  Participants will proceed west on Fort Avenue, left on Webster Street, right on E. Randall Street, right onto Belt Street, and right on E. Fort Avenue towards Fort McHenry.  Participants will enter Fort McHenry and complete the Fort loop, returning to E. Fort Avenue and heading west to finish on E. Fort Avenue by the Liberty Lot.

In preparation for the event, the following roadway will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.:

  • Eastbound E. Fort Avenue closed from Covington Street to Constellation Plaza

In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible with parking restrictions in effect.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented during the event for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Charm City Circulator (CCC) Banner Route patrons should be advised that the CCC will be detoured on Saturday, October 28, 2023 during the event from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Additional information can be found on the CCC website.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Reservoir Hill Harvest Festival

This Saturday, temporary traffic modifications will be implemented for the Reservoir Hill Harvest Festival which will be held in Reservoir Hill.

In preparation for the event, Whitelock Street will be closed to through traffic between Brookfield and Linden Avenues on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect. 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Halloween Bar Crawl in Federal Hill

This Saturday, temporary road closures will be implemented for the Halloween Bar Crawl which will be held in Federal Hill.

In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th through 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:

  • S. Charles Street at E. Cross Street
  • S. Charles Street at West Street
  • Patapsco Street at West Street
  • Light Streeet at E. Cross Street 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Crane & Cleaning Operations

This weekend, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for crane and cleaning operations.  

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, the following road closures will be implemented:

  • W. Mt. Vernon Place closed between Cathedral Street and Washington Place 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (crane operation)
  • Covington Street closed between Cross and Gittings Streets 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (crane operation)

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the following lane closures will be implemented:

  • Northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 left lane closures from Fayette Street to the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which will be held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023 the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Mural Painting at Charles Street & North Avenue

This Sunday, a portion of Charles Street will be closed for mural painting at the intersection of North Avenue.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023 Charles Street will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of North Avenue from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. with detours in effect. In addition, lane closures will be implemented along North Avenue at the intersection of Charles Street, with one lane of eastbound and westbound travel remaining open along North Avenue during this time.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should follow posted detour signs and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Domestic Violence Awareness 5K

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Walk/Run which takes place in Druid Hill Park.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023 temporary traffic holds/road closures will occur along the following roadways in Druid Hill Park from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • Beechwood Drive from Gwynns Falls Parkway to Swann Drive
  • Swann Drive from Beechwood Drive to East Drive
  • East Drive from Mansion House Drive and Red Road

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Christ the King Procession

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Christ the King Procession.

On Sunday, October 29, 2023 temporary traffic holds/road closures will occur along the following roadways during the procession from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • W. Saratoga Street from Cathedral Street to Park Avenue
  • Park Avenue from Saratoga to Mulberry Streets
  • Mulberry Street from Park Avenue to Cathedral Street
  • Cathedral Street from Mulberry to Saratoga Streets

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
