Weekend Road Closures for Friday, August 25th through Sunday, August 27th, 2023

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists of the temporary traffic modifications and road closures for the following activities this weekend.  Please download the Waze.com app for live detour navigation.  All activities are weather permitting and BCDOT is not responsible for providing status updates.

Traffic Modifications for the Charm City Live Music Festival
Closure of Pratt Street begins at 12:00 noon on Friday, August 25

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications for the Charm City Live Music Festival.  Charm City Live is a free, one-day festival that will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

This year, Charm City Live is being held at the intersection of Market Place and E. Pratt Street at the Inner Harbor, to offer guests an unforgettable live musical experience. 

In preparation for this event, the following road closures will be implemented in the downtown area:

  • On Friday, August 25th starting at 12:00 p.m., Pratt Street between Gay Street and President Street will be closed for preparations related to the Charm City Live event. 
  • Starting at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26th the closure of Pratt Street will be extended to Calvert Street. This closure between Calvert Street and President Street will remain in effect until approximately 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 27th.
  • By 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 27thPratt Street will revert back to the original closure between Gay Street and President Street and will be reopened to traffic by 12:00 p.m.
  • During this time, access to the Pratt Street corridor from intersecting streets will also be restricted. However, exit-only traffic from the Pier V garage onto Pratt Street will be permitted throughout the event.
  • All eastbound Pratt Street traffic will be redirected to E. Baltimore Street. Westbound traffic will be permitted to use E. Lombard Street.

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented for the event:
Friday, August 25th from 12:00 p.m. until Sunday, August 27th at 12:00 p.m. 

  • North side of E. Pratt Street from Gay Street to Constellation Way
  • Both sides of Market Place from E. Pratt Street to Lombard Street
  • Both sides of S. Gay Street from E. Pratt Street to Lexington Street

Saturday, August 26th from 12:00 a.m. until Saturday, August 26th at 11:59 p.m. 

  • South side of E. Baltimore Street from Gay Street to President Street
  • Both sides of S. Calvert Street from E. Pratt Street to E. Fayette Street
  • Both sides of S. Charles Street from Pratt Street to Fayette Street
  • Both sides of S. Frederick Street from E. Baltimore Street to Water Street
  • Both sides of Water Street from Market Place to Gay Street
  • Both Sides of Commerce Street From Pratt Street to Fayette Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should plan ahead for the Pratt Street closure on Friday, August 25th through Sunday, August 27th by allowing additional travel time and using alternate routes to avoid delays.  Motorists should also pay close attention to posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.

During the closure of Pratt Street, a portion of the Charm City Circulator’s (CCC) Orange Route will be detoured and temporary stop closures along Pratt Street will be implemented.

CCC Stop Closures: Stop # 224 Columbus Center - no service from 12:00 noon on Friday until 12:00 noon on Sunday Stop # 223 National Aquarium - no service from Saturday at 9:00 am until midnight.

On Friday, August 25, 2023, CCC buses traveling along Pratt Street will be detoured along the following route from 12:00 noon until midnight:

  • Left on Gay Street
  • Right on Baltimore Street
  • Right on President Street to continue along regular route

On Saturday, August 26, 2023 CCC buses traveling along Pratt Street will be detoured along the following route from 9:00 a.m. until midnight:

  • Left on Calvert Street
  • Right on Baltimore Street
  • Right on President Street to continue along the regular route

On Sunday, August 27, 2023, CCC buses traveling along Pratt Street will be detoured along the following route from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon:

  • Left on Gay Street
  • Right on Baltimore Street
  • Right on President Street to continue along the regular route

Riders will be able to board the Charm City Circulator at all other designated stops during this time.

 

Traffic Modifications for Baltimore Orioles Home Games This Weekend

This weekend, temporary traffic modifications will be in effect for Baltimore Orioles home games being held at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

In preparation for Friday's game, the following streets will be closed on Friday, August 25, 2023, starting at approximately 4:00 p.m.:

  • Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets
  • Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets
  • Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, August 25, 2023, beginning at 4:00 p.m.:

  • East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
  • North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets
  • East side of Greene Street, from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
  • North side of Pratt Street, from Greene Street to Paca Street

The road closures and parking restrictions listed above will also be implemented on Saturday, August 26th at approximately 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 27th at approximately 10:00 a.m. 

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with traffic movement in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in the vicinity of the stadium should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks. 

 

Traffic Modifications for the Back to School Community Fun Day 

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Back to School Community Fun Day which will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following road and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.:

  • West side curb lane of Wolfe Street from Ashland Avenue to Eager Street
  • Eager Street from Wolfe Street to Rutland Avenue
  • Ashland Avenue from Wolfe Street to Rutland Avenue

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should watch for changing traffic patterns and be encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Back to School Block Party

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Back to School Block Party which will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

  • Hillen Road from 30th Street to 31st Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Mt. Carmel Star Baptist Church & Neighborhood Community Outreach 

This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Mt. Carmel Star Baptist Church & Neighborhood Community Outreach  which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following road and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

  • West Baltimore Street from North Fulton Avenue to North Monroe Street

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for Macedonia Baptist Church back to School Fest

This weekend, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Macedonia Baptist Church back to School Fest which will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In preparation for the event, the following road and lane closures will be implemented on Saturday from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

  • North Fremont Avenue from West Mosher Street to West Lafayette Avenue

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Back to School Community Outreach Day

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the Back to School Community Outreach Day which will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

In preparation for the event, the following road and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.:

  • North Patterson Park Avenue from Gay Street to East North Avenue

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

In preparation for the event, the following road and lane closures will be implemented on Sunday, August 27, 2023 from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
  • Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
