Traffic Modifications for Upcoming Events at CFG Bank Arena

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be implemented for upcoming events at the new CFG Bank Arena.

The following traffic modifications will be implemented on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8, 2023, starting at approximately 7:00 p.m. each evening:

• Pratt Street left turn lane closure onto northbound Howard Street
• Lombard Street right lane closure onto northbound Howard Street
• Howard Street closed between Pratt and Baltimore Streets

A temporary two-way traffic pattern will be implemented along Howard Street for arena patrons leaving the parking garage each evening.  Motorists exiting the garage will be able to head north on Howard Street after the event or drive south along Howard Street for convenient access to southbound I-395.  

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Orioles Opening Day Home Game
Home opening game will now be held on Friday, April 7th

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic and parking modifications that will be implemented for opening day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.  The Baltimore Orioles will play their home opening game against the New York Yankees on Friday, April 7, 2023 starting at 3:05 p.m. 

Motorists should be advised that all parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations will be strictly enforced in the vicinity of the stadium.  Patrons who do not have a parking permit for any of the stadium lots are strongly encouraged to use public transportation.  With a variety of transit options including the Metro Subway, Light Rail, Park and Ride express bus services, and the Charm City Circulator, fans can easily use mass transit from numerous locations in and around Baltimore. 

Baseball fans that drive to the game should utilize commercial parking facilities north of the stadium and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  Transportation Enforcement Officers will enforce all posted parking restrictions and residential permit parking regulations in the vicinity of the stadium.  Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Patrons with questions concerning the location of their vehicles should call 311. 

In preparation for the game, the following streets and lanes will be closed on Friday, April 7, 2023: 

• Eutaw Street from Pratt to Camden Streets (closure starts at 1:00 p.m.)
• Camden Street from Howard to Russell Streets (closure starts at 1:00 p.m.)
• Hamburg Street from Russell to Leadenhall Streets (closure starts at 1:00 p.m.)
• Washington Boulevard from Paca to Greene Streets (closure starts at 10:00 a.m.)
• Emory Street from Dover to Portland Streets (closed 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
• Portland Street from Emory to Greene Streets (closed 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
• Hopkins Place from Pratt Street to Lombard Street (closed 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
• Left lane closure of Russell Street from Eislen to Pratt Street (lane closure 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.) 

In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, April 7, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m.: 

• East side of Greene Street from Lombard Street to Washington Boulevard
• East side of Eutaw Street from Pratt to Lombard Streets
• North side of Conway Street from Charles to Sharp Streets

Transportation Enforcement Officers will be stationed at key intersections to assist with the movement of traffic in the downtown area.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians, especially when approaching designated crosswalks.

Traffic Modifications for the Sole of the City 10K

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications and parking restrictions that will be implemented for the Sole of the City 10K Run. The 10K course kicks off at 8:30 a.m.

In preparation for the event, the following roadways will be closed to through traffic on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect from from approximately 12:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. :

• South Central Avenue from Fleet Street to Dock Street

• South Caroline Street from Eastern Avenue to Thames Street

• Dock Street west of south Caroline Street

• Point Street from south Central Avenue to Thames Street

• Wills Street south of Dock Street

Race Route:

• Start north on Caroline Street near 923 south Caroline Street
• Turn left on Eastern Avenue
• Turn Left on the promenade behind McCormick & Schmick's
• Head toward Piers Five and the the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse
• Continue West around the harborside of the lighthouse
• Turn left onto the wooden bridge towards the National Aquarium
• Make an immediate left to continue around the harborside of the National Aquarium
• Head north toward Pratt Street at the wide bridge directly in front of the Barnes & Noble
• Turn left toward the Top of the World Observation Deck
• Continue on the promenade to pass through the lower left side of the amphitheater
• Continue on the promenade to pass the Science Center on right at the entrance to the BGE Pavilion
• Turn right to exit the promenade through the Science Center's driveway entrance
• Turn right on Key highway
• Turn right on Light Street
• Turn right on Pratt Street
• Continue on Pratt Street
• Turn left on Patterson Park Avenue
• Turn right into Patterson Park across from Lombard Street 
• Turn right onto the main path of Patterson Park 
• Turn left following the perimeter pathway toward the main circular pavilion
• Pass the circular pavilion toward the basketball courts and then go around the west side of the duck pond onto the sidewalk path leading to descend toward Eastern Avenue at Patterson Park Avenue
• Transition to street
• Turn left on Patterson Park Avenue
• Turn right on Fleet Street
• Turn left on south Caroline Street
• Turn right on Lancaster Street
• Turn left on Central Avenue
• Continue to Finish at the intersection of south Central Avenue and Dock Street

Charm City Circulator Service Alert

On Saturday, April 8, 2023, the Charm City Circulator will be operating its regular service hours with detours implemented along the Orange Route and Green Route from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the Sole of the City 10K.

During this time the Orange and Green Routes will have the following detours:

Eastbound Orange Route:

• Turn left on south Central Avenue
• Turn right on Eastern Avenue 
• Turn left on Caroline Street and continue regular route

Eastbound Green Route:

• Turn left on South Central Avenue
• Turn right on Eastern Avenue
• Turn left on North Broadway Street and continue regular route

Southbound Green Route:

• Turn right on Eastern Avenue,
• Turn left on South Central Avenue
• Right on Fleet Street and continue regular route.

Stops affected during the detour include 105, 106, 119, 120, and 121

Transportation Enforcement Officers along with the Baltimore City Police will be stationed along the race route to help facilitate the movement of traffic.  Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in these vicinities should expect delays, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes during the event.

Traffic Modifications for Crane Operations

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures in effect for crane operations.  

On Saturday, April 8th, 2023 the following closures will be implemented for crane operations:

• West 36^th Street from Elm Street to Roland Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. 
• East Baltimore Street from Gay Street to President Street from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.   

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holiday and Gay Streets. 

On Sunday, April 9th , 2023, the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

• Hillen Street will be closed at Fallsway
• Pleasant Street will be closed at Holliday Street
• Holliday Street will be closed at Saratoga Street

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
