Traffic Modifications for Baltimore’s Birthday Bash

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday for Baltimore’s Birthday Bash which will be held along Guilford Avenue.

In preparation for the event, the following traffic modifications will be implemented along Guildford Avenue between Pleasant and Saratoga Streets on Friday, July 30, 2021:

  • lane closures from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (one lane of through traffic will remain open along Guilford Avenue during this time)
  • full closure of Guilford Avenue from 6:30 p.m. to 12 midnight with detours in effect (access will be maintained for MDOT MTA buses and emergency vehicles)
  • left lane closure along Pleasant Street between Holliday Street and Guilford Avenue from 6:30 p.m. to 12 midnight.

In addition, parking restrictions will be implemented along the east side of Guilford Avenue on Friday, July 30, 2021 beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.

 

Weekend Road Closures and Parking Restrictions in Fells Point

This weekend, temporary road closures and parking restrictions will be implemented in Fells Point.

Starting on Friday, July 30, 2021 and continuing each evening through Sunday, August 1, 2021, all through traffic will be restricted in Fells Point from approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. within the following geographical boundaries:

  • South of Aliceanna Street
  • North of Thames Street
  • East of S. Bond Street
  • West of S. Ann Street

In addition, various parking restrictions will also be implemented in Fells Point throughout the weekend.  Fells Point visitors and residents should pay close attention to all posted parking restrictions and avoid parking in restricted areas.  Residential Permit Parking (RPP) will be strictly enforced throughout the weekend in Fells Point (RPP Area 16) and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed.  Fells Point Residential Permit Parking in Area 16 will be enforced along the following roadways:

• Aliceanna Street     • Broadway

• Fleet Street              • Shakespeare Street

• Ann Street               • Thames Street

• Lancaster Street     • Dallas Street

• Bethel Street           • Wolfe Street

• Register Street        • Durham Street

• Bond Street             • Fell Street

To ensure that Fells Point residents have access to parking near their homes, residents will be allowed to access areas closed to through traffic with their Area 16 Residential Parking permits.

Motorists should be aware that additional road closures and parking restrictions may be implemented in the vicinity of Fells Point throughout the weekend if needed.  Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Lane Closures Along MD-295

This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along MD-295 for cleaning activities. 

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, temporary right lane closures will be implemented along north and southbound MD-295 between Hamburg Street and the county line from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., weather permitting.  In addition, the Monroe Street exit ramp from northbound MD-295 will also temporarily closure during this time.

Then on Sunday, August 1, 2021, temporary left lane closures will be implemented along this same stretch of north and southbound MD-295 from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

Weekend Ramp Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway

This weekend, temporary ramp closures will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway for street lighting work.

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, the Northern Parkway entrance ramps to both the northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Then on Sunday, August 1, 2021 the Cold Spring Lane entrance ramps to both the northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours in effect.

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

 

W. Baltimore Street Lane Closures

This Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of W. Baltimore Street for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, temporary lane closures will be implemented along W. Baltimore Street between S. Arch and S. Greene Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.  One lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

Eastern Avenue Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of eastbound Eastern Avenue will be closed for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, eastbound Eastern Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Highland Avenue and Conkling Street from approximately 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

 

S. Pulaski Street Crane Operation

This Saturday, a portion of S. Pulaski Street will be closed for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, S. Pulaski Street will be closed to through traffic between McHenry and Pratt Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting. 

Motorists traveling in this area should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.   

 

Forrest Street/Greenmount Avenue Temporary Closures for Crane Lift Operation

This Saturday, portions of Forrest Street and Greenmount Avenue will temporarily close for a crane lift operation. 

On Saturday, July 31, 2021, both Forrest Street and Greenmount Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Monument and Hillen Streets from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect, weather permitting.

Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar

This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which is held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.

On Sunday, August 1, 2021 the following streets will be closed to through traffic from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with detours in effect:

  • Hillen Street from Fallsway to Holliday Street
  • Holliday Street from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
  • Holliday Street at Pleasant Street off ramp left lane closure

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
