Traffic Modifications for the Race 13.1 Baltimore

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary lane closures that will be in effect for the Race 13.1 Baltimore which will be held on Saturday, December 03, 2016.   The event will start and end at the Canton Waterfront Park at 7:00 a.m.

The half marathon route will proceed right on Boston Street and right on Clinton Street to turnaround point just before Keith Avenue.  The course proceeds left on Boston Street, left on Aliceanna Street, left onto S. Caroline Street, and right at Lancaster Street to enter the Inner Harbor promenade.  The route continues along the promenade around the World Trade Center to Rash Field, loop around Rash Field and exit the promenade past the Ritz Carlton Residences.  The course proceeds left on Key Highway, left on the Key Highway Extension, right on Hull Street, left on Marriott Street, right on Towson Street, left on Cuba Street, right on Andre Street, left on E. Clement Street, right on Benjamin Street, and left onto E. Fort Avenue to the turnaround point just before Nicholson Street.  Participants will follow the same route back to Canton Waterfront Park to finish.

In preparation for the event, single lane closures will be in effect along the course route wherever possible.  In addition, the following roads will be closed during the event:

  • Westbound Lanes of Boston Street will be closed from Fleet Street to Clinton Street
  • Northbound Lanes of Aliceanna Street will be closed from S. Caroline Street to Boston Street

These lane closures are expected to remain in effect for approximately three hours.  During the event, temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of participants.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
