Daily Lane Closures to be Implemented Along Portion of Charles Street for Intersection Improvement Work Starting Wednesday, September 27th

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that daily lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Charles Street for construction work.

Starting on or about Wednesday, September 27, 2023, daily lane closures will be implemented along Charles Street between St. Albans Way and Upnor Road from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.  During construction, crews will be making improvements to the intersection including new sidewalks with ADA ramps, curbing, gutters, traffic poles and signal control devices.

During construction, motorists can expect traffic shifts and parking restrictions throughout the work zone.  These lane closures will be implemented on weekdays for approximately 90 days.

The lane closures along this portion of Charles Street may cause congestion and delays, so commuters are encouraged to allow additional travel time.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
